Skills Development Completed

Youth Empowerment and skills aquisition.

The skill acquisition program formally commenced on 29th October 2021 with 21 trainees and was programmed to last 12 months. During the period, each participant was required to open a bank account and received 20,000 naira monthly for subsistence as well as exposure to money management. The training also attended classes where they received basic training in entrepreneur. Depending on the skill and craft selected, each participant was equipped with practice tool and materials for training purposes. Lastly, fees were paid to the trainers. Since the inception of the skill acquisition program, 52 persons have participated in three batches drawn from various polo in opobo Town.

Through the generosity of our donors, the Foundation launched a quarterly support program for elderly persons aged 60+ in Opobo Town who are no longer active and lack adequate family support.

Covid-19 Relief packages and facemasks

📍 Opobo Town, Rivers State

During the COVID pandemic, many households in opobo lost their source of income overnight. Through the generosity of our donors, the Foundation provided emergency relief to 50 households in Ukonu Polo, Opobo Town. Each household received food items and cash support to help them stay home, stay safe and meet basic needs during the lockdown. This intervention eased the burden on families, most affected by the pandemic and ensured no one was left to struggle alone. This relief was made possible because of you.

Back to School Initiative

📍 Opobo Town, Rivers State

Through your support, the Foundation sponsored Elijah Cookey and Matthew Apiafi after they dropped out of school due to financial reasons. We covered their monthly upkeep and school needs. Today, both of them have graduated from secondary school and successfully passed the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination.

Scholarship & Bursary Scheme

📅 2021 till date 📍 Rivers State.

In addition to skills acquisition and other youth empowerment programs, the Foundation embarked on a scholarship and Bursary scheme. This was designed for indigent students in secondary school as well as undergraduates students in recognized tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The scheme was flagged off on 16th of December 2021, 10 secondary school students, 3 polytechnics students and 3 undergraduates were interviewed and enrolled in the scheme from 2021/2022 academic year. Their sponsorship lasted till graduation. Under the Bursary scheme, the Foundation gave assistance to 11 students.
